FLINTLOCK MUSKET. Marked Harpers Ferry 1818 .69 caliber 42-3/4'' round barrel oiled walnut stock. Barrel is very clean just a hint of old scaling no rifling strong action. Patina is steel-brown. Stock has old ding and scratches plus a very good repair between upper tang and lockplate. Barrel has strong cartouch type US stamp and Eagle Head over P stamp. Eagle forward of hammer is gone though US still visible.

U.S Model 1795 Type III Harpers Ferry Flintlock Musket .69 caliber 44.5" round barrel.?With US in sunken oval and eagle and P in oval on the left side of barrel at breech. Flat-style lockplate marked Harpers Ferry and dated?1813. Eagle on the forward part of lock under pan. Condition: All metal has been burnished bright and then a coat of shellac has been painted over the metal leaving a light yellow to amber look.? Stock is excellent with some nicks and dings.

Lockplate marked Harpers Ferry and dated 1849. Eagle forward of hammer.?Brass mounted with walnut stock.? Steel ramrod. Brass parts with sub-inspector's initials. Condition: Barrel retains most of the original lacquered brown finish.? Rear barrel sight has all of the original black finish. Lockplate and hammer retain all of the original bright case coloring.? Top of breech is slightly streaked with original finish.? Brass is untouched with a mint look.? Stock is mint with nice untouched open-grained wood and a mint three-letter cartouche "JHK".? For the more discriminating collector. One of the best being offered.

ANTIQUE HARPERS FERRY U.S. 1848 ANTEBELLUM RIFLE.69 caliber smoothbore, walnut stock, iron barrel. The lock plate incised marked Harpers Ferry 1848, and impressed with a US government displayed eagle clutching a bundle of arrows, above the initials US, the stock also with a brass shield shaped tag stamped with the initials P H, opposed by a brass square plate impressed with foliage, the stock with numerous crossed-hatched X, incised by hand (possibly an indication as to the number of kills). Length overall 49.5 in. (Cond: the iron barrel with much corrosion, lacking bayonet, repairs, AS IS) Cf. Introduced in 1842, there were approximately 100,000 produced at the Harpers Ferry’s Virginia armory, 1854 through 1855. This model was the predominant rifle used during the Mexican-American War from 1846 through 1848. Further the model would have been in the hands of many local militia throughout the antebellum United States and used by both combatants at the start of the American Civil War.

Sideplate?has been lightly cleaned as well as the bottom of the triggerguard. ?Left flat of stock with three block letter initials "J.L.R." for a cartouche.?Stock with some nicks and dings. ?Excellent example of a true Harpers Ferry Mississippi rifle.

Oval cartouche?with JS and on the rear of the flat is a "V" and "AL". ?Brass with nice untouched?patina. Stock with some nicks and dings.

Condition: Barrel is smooth and brown with pitting around the bolster and nipple protruding onto the barrel.?Lock with crisp markings and brown patina.? Stock with nicks and dings and a nice cartouche.?A small piece of wood missing by the right side of tang caused by burn out.

Model 1816 Harpers Ferry Flintlock Musket .69 caliber 42" round barrel with a US NWP and P in an circle. Tang is dated 1837; lockplate marked Harpers Ferry and dated 1837 with eagle and US under the pan. Walnut stock with three barrel bands. Condition: Barrel is grey mixed with staining. This barrel still has a percussion nipple in the top of the barrel and someone started to reconvert it back to flint.? Lock with new flint hammer pan frizzen and frizzen spring.? The touch hole was never drilled and the conversion was not completed.? The lock has sharp and crisp markings with a mottled grey look.? Stock has been cleaned leaving the wood light in color.? Stock still has a light cartouche on the comb of the stock at the buttplate and?opposite of the lock.

HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1841 U.S. PERCUSSION RIFLE. Also known as the '' Mississippi Rifle'' with 33'' round barrel in .54 caliber. Two barrel bands trigger guard large patchbox and butt plate all in brass. Trumpet-type steel ramrod (without brass tip). Front has a blade sight and rear is a flip up-style ''V'' with two leaves. Barrel marked ''W W'' over ''P'' on left side ''VP'' just below that. ''1854'' on upper tang. Lock plate has eagle motif and US forward of hammer and ''Harpers Ferry 1847'' to the rear. Nice over-all condition with great rifling.

***HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1855 RIFLE-MUSKET. .58 caliber 33'' round barrel with two bands lock dated 1861 walnut stock with inlaid eagle on left side. Saber bayonet and scabbard and accompanied by a brass powder flask and leather pouch. Old finish with moderate-heavy oxidation around the breech and in the bore. Gun seems mechanically sound and Maynard style primer system looks to be in good working order. Patch box has a cleaning tool (worm) inside along with a cross hair type (globe) sight that can be affixed to the muzzle end of the gun. The barrel is 33''. Bayonet and scabbard are in good shape blade measures 21-3/4''. Powder flask has old dents spring is good. It is iron mounted with a brass nose cap. Pouch has a broken strap on one side leather is very dry but not falling apart.
