Condition:
Very good condition overall with very light toning from former matting and full margins. Hinged to backing board and matted. The Ismar Littmann Family Collection was originally amassed by famed German patron of the arts and attorney Ismar Littmann and then later by other family members. A friend to many of the artists he collected, Littmann did most of his acquiring of avant-garde art during the 15 years preceding the 1933 installation of the political regime, which forcibly removed and sold a large part of his collection that totaled over 6,000 works. Although Littmann died in 1934, part of the family was able to emigrate to the United States and Israel with a portion of the collection and a continued interest in European art of the early 20th century.
