Swett", depicts a seated woman with rosy cheeks and browns eyes with a lacy veil covering her hair. Alexander was a leading portrait artist of the 19th Century, studying under Alexander Robertson and Gilbert Stuart. One of Alexander's most notable subject was Charles Dickens who sat for a portrait in 1842.
