MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SABER. Unmarked but probably Ames Manufacturing dated 1862 on the ricasso 34 3/4'' blade brass guard wire-wrapped grip and metal scabbard. Some deterioration to the leather grip corrosion to the scabbard.

Co / Chicopee / Mass" to reverse ricasso and sheath. The scabbard is repaired.

Ames Cabotville on one side, and US 1846 N.W.P. on the other. The brass guard is stamped WAT on one side and NWP on the other side. The pommel has an eagle on each side. Double edged blade is 19" long. Leather scabbard is good with some cracking to the finish and small areas of loss.
