Condition:
1st Item: Temporary stretcher and canvas adhered with tacks. 2" x 1/2" slice lower right of horse. 5/8" L tear upper left corner to right of roof. 1/2" tear left upper edge. Overall craquelure, abrasions and surface grime. Approximately 10 small holes or punctures, largest 1/8" x 1/8". 2nd Item: Significant foxing. 4-1/2" loss of paper upper left corner; loss left center edge. Tear across center and right lower quadrant. 3rd Item: Water damage, few holes and grime to cover. Cover is loose from spine. Toning to paper. Insect damage.

John Dashwood (c. 1779-1861), rector of Tatenhill Parish Church, Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire; all unsigned; in matching black painted papier mache frames with gilded inner lip, oak leaf form hanging loop holder, female portraits are housed behind oval convex glass panels, 5 1/2" x 4 3/4". Toning, one female portrait has replaced backing paper, the other female backing has tears and losses.
