Lumen Watson Cincinnati clock, tall highly figured cherry case with broken arch pediment, poplar secondary, mahogany veneered door and inset tombstone panel on base, shaped skirt and feet, arched and painted wooden dial, gilt spandrels and painted basket of flowers and pulled pink curtain, signed "L Watson, Cincinnati", interior door with inscriptions including "Frank Hanley(?) October 9, 1853", inside of door with compass work crescent moon, back painted "C.F.B. Co 1933", Ohio, 19th century, with period pendulum and small lead weights, 91 x 18 x 9 in. Dial with cracks and minor paint losses, original saddle board (appears to be good match), case with old refinishing (traces black paint on hood molding, back of hood pediment and feet), hood pediment appears to be original with later blocking, later brace to back of central hood element. Watson, Cincinnati" (Luman Watson, died 1834), boldly grain painted black and red waisted case, period weights and pendulum, probably Ohio, early 19th century, 85 x 18-1/4 x 10-1/4 in. Dial resurfaced with photographic print highlighted with gilt spandrels and urn, later hands, works and case married, grain painted case in generally good repair with some cracks and separations, some paint wear and loss to case sides, replaced door pull, hood with no glass or backboard (as made). German brass movement has a floral-painted dial. Imperfections. Found in West Virginia and retains an older railroad shipping label from Muncie Indiana. 93 1/4''h. Retains weights; older finish renailed backboards repairs to the hood the hood is fixed to the case cherry panel above the door is likely later top of the hood is replaced various losses dial is repainted.
