LIGHTHOUSE TORSION CLOCK Circa 1880. Eight-day time and strike with torsion pendulum, gilt-bronze and patinated brickwork case with the clock in the bottom and an oscillating multicolored glass balance mechanism above. The realistically modeled glazed cupola set with rotating red and green glass panels alternately revealing the helical torsion spring, enclosed by a balustrade over a tapering body with applied windows to a concave mid-section over a brickwork base with door containing the Roman dial and original blued steel spade hands. The single barrel movement with deadbeat escapement and pallet arm with a forked end impulsing the slowly rotating torsion pendulum above.

Condition:
Good condition for antique Georgian clocks of this age, use, and materials including but not limited to normal scuff marks, scratches, some fading, wear on gilt brass mounts, dings, expected small chips, old restorations, repairs, age shrinkage cracks, and the minute hand is loose. The painted dial face has craquelure, a few small old scratches, and surface buildup, but has good colors, is nicely detailed, and is in good condition.
