Provenance: Commissioned by Herbrand, 11th Duke of Bedford for his grand steam yacht "Sapphire", built in 1912. In addition a breakfast and tea service for twelve and a further six mocca cups and saucers, together with a Wedgwood dessert service were ordered, all of which were to be housed in a purpose built sideboard on the vessel.
