Has 1853 inset gold coin on gemstone faceted knob. Size: 34.5 in long. Silver ferrule has damage. (Possibly Daniel Pratt from the Alabama Industrialist family 1799-1873).

The other by Daniel Pratt and Sons with Roman numeral chapter rings, striking movement with square rigged shape eglomisé panel below. Hts: 16 1/4 in. and 17 in. PROVENANCE: Property of a Philadelphia gentleman. Good condition : Pratt with repaired eglomise panel. One with no key.

George Esten Cooke (American/Maryland 1793-1849) "Portrait of Stephen Girard (1750-1831)" c. 1815 oil on canvas signed lower right 22 1/4 in. x 17 1/2 in. period frame; together with correspondence about the painting from Cook scholar Marilou Alston Rudulph dated 1956. Provenance: Acquired from a Tulsa Oklahoma Estate. Note: A portraitist and landscape artist best known for his paintings of Georgia's Cherokee Territory of 1840 Cooke enjoyed the friendship of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Birmingham Alabama industrialist Daniel Pratt (1799-1873). Through Pratt's patronage Cooke established a studio on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans in 1844. This idealized portrait of French-American financier Stephen Girard was executed early in Cooke's career when he was in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Reference: Rudulph.
