He donated many specimens to The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC and upon his death, left most of his collection to Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. His obituary was featured in the publication "The Mineralogical Record" and he was a member of the Chinese Snuff Bottle Society of America. Green Talc Carving Animal Figurines: Included in this lot is a collection of Green Talc carving animal figurines. These pieces were carved by Clarence Cameron, a renown carver in Wisconsin. The sculptures depict an Owl, a Squirrel with an Acorn, and a Duck. The figurines are carved out of Deep Ocean Green Soapstone. The pieces are in excellent condition. Signed Mid 20th C. Inuit Soapstone Woman with Game: First Nations / Native American, Canadian Arctic, Quebec, Nunavik, Povungnituk / Puvirnituq, ca. third quarter of the 20th century CE. Signed by Juanisialu Irqumia (1912 to 1977). A remarkable hand-carved soapstone figure of a female Inuit carrying a duck in her right hand and a fish in her left. The fascinating figure hunches forward, exhausted from the hunt. Her expressive visage indicates her fatigue, displaying generously lidded eyes, a broad nose, and a straight mouth, all beneath a centrally parted coiffure. The huge hood of her heavy coat covers her head, pulled by the wind to her left side. Size: 3. 125" W x 6. 125" H (7. 9 cm x 15. 6 cm) . .
