G.G. Eubank 13th Kentucky Cavalry Spencerian Drawing and Family Record A hand-colored Spencerian drawing on wove paper featuring a spread-winged eagle and 28-star U.S. flag motif symbols of Liberty and Union as written below the illustrations with G.G. Eubank's military record written in calligraphy at the top of the document Co. D 13 Ky. Cav./ From Oct. 27 1863 / To Jan. 11 1865 and certification of Eubank's marriage to Elizabeth Griffin Aug. 19 1858 at Kato Pulaski County KY. It also includes a record of the birth and death dates of members of the Eubank Family and two pairs of crossed bayonets drawn below; 22 x 28 in. (sight) framed and glazed 26 x 32.5 in.There is an Oliver P. Eubanks Co. D 13th KY Cavalry who served from 12/23/63 through 1/10/65 but HDS has no records for a G.G. Eubank Co. D 13th KY Cavalry. In the summer of 1863 the 13th KY Cavalry formed and immediately went into active duty to protect the area south of Lebanon including the Cumberland River Creelsborough and Celina Obey's River Wolf River Cynthiana Liberty Canton and Roaring Springs. It participated in the Battle at Saltville VA October 2 1864. With the expiration of the term of service the 13th KY was mustered out on January 10 1865.
