Boston, timed strike and chime, nine tubes signed Walter Durfee, a pierced carved crest with two finals and dentil molding, carved rosettes, beveled glass door, and gadrooned carved base on animal paw feet, three weights, pendulum and key. Clock visible in the 1920's vintage photo taken of the interior of the Allen home. 98”H x 24”W x 15”D Condition: fabric back is torn, was working a few years ago, as with all antique grandfather clocks some adjusting needed to put in working order. The spandrels date the clock 1695-1730 - Page 32 GRANDFATHER CLOCKS and their cases by Brian Loomes. The clock is in perfect working order. Beautiful wood inlays, bronze accents. Measures 91.5"H; base 21.25"W x 10.25"D.

A Fine Black Forest Highly Carved Walnut Tall Case Clock c. 1925 Hans Winterhalder movement marked "HWN" and "Hawina" the case carved with fully modeled glass-eyed owls ferns and oak branches with leaf and acorn clusters the weights incised with figures interior fitted with mirrors the pendulum bob and dial with conforming decoration the movement striking on 8 rods height 77 in. width 30 in. depth 16 in. Note: Hans Winterhalder took over his family's extensive clockmaking business c. 1919. Based in Neustadt Black Forest Germany the company trademarked the name "Hawina" and "HWN" in 1925 specializing in "Grandfather Clocks".
