- A Royal Artillery officers sword
A Royal Artillery officers sword with 33.5 inch acid etched blade by Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London no.55791 with wire band shagreen fishskin grip and leather scabbard and a similar officers sword with undecorated blade 41in & 43in. Estimate ?200-300 Artillery Officer's sword - the blade is lightly tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean somewhat a little grubby but the detailing is all clearly visible. The grip is grubby with some light flaking but all the wirework and general surface covering is there the guard hilt grip and pommel heavily tarnished with rusting patches. Scabbard generally scuffed and marked leather belt clasp is broken and nipple mount is tarnished. The other sword - the blade is fairly clean and probably has been cleaned just somewhat grubby to the surface there is traces of a crown stamp although half of it is rubbed. One crack and two small chips to the fishskin grip otherwise good the guard grip and pommel tarnished throughout with some rusting. Scabbard is heavily tarnished and rusted and rather dirty.
