A mid 18th century oak eight-day longcase clock the 10 inch brass dial signed George Hewett Marlborough (recorded circa 1720-1769) 6ft 5in. Estimate ?400-600 Case a little battered with hood frieze held on with tape and some losses to the crossbanding of both the door and the box base dial oxidised steel hands similarly so. Later wooden catch fitted to the secure trunk door base raised on old but still later feet overall appears to have been untouched for many years and will require restoration no key pendulum or weights.
