It does make static noise when plugged in, but a check-up by a competent radio or electronics repair person is highly recommended. Case is in remarkably fine condition, with original red paint. Top has a small nick about 1/8" wide. Bottom has a similar-sized paint chip. Top also has a square area in the center where the paint appears slightly glossier, as though there were something set on it for a time. No attempt has been made to polish or otherwise alter the present condition of the paint. Measures 8-1/4" wide.
