Rochester time recorder clock, oak case, pendulum window "Rochester Time Recorder Patd. Oct. 30-94. Manufactured by International Time Recording Company, Binghamton, N.Y. U.S.A.", timekeeping mechanism with cast iron mounts, with pendulum, 52-1/4 in. Case with original finish, several separations, chips and small repairs, one piece of crown molding loose but present, wear and minor chips to face, lacking key, case locked and interior has not been examined, missing pediment.

IBM Time Recorder employee time clock. This is an old and complete example of a fully functionl time clock. It was owned by a former employee of the Monticello Dairy. This was one of the two machines used there for the plant employees. Unconditionally guaranteed to be from the Monticello Dairy plant, Charlottesville, Virginia. It was retired in 1980. This type of machine was based on the 1888 patent of physician Alezander Dey. As employees pressed a rotating pointer into the hole at their assigned number, the machine recorded the time on a preprinted sheet and rang a bell with each punch. The name plate displays "Manufactured By International Business Machines Corp., International Time Recording Div., Endicott, N. Y." There are 7 patent dates, from July 11, 1911 to Mar. 7, 1916. Shows Model No. 6400-5, and "REC 3*** The clock drive otor says it is a "Warren Telechron Co., Serial #195712A". This unit was probably made in 1924 when the International Time Co. was purchased by IBM. One of these IBM machines is in the American History building of the Smithsonian Musuem. Another is displayed by the IBM corp. headquarters, artifact division. Estimate $400-600
