Signed lower left of center, J.F. Herring. Later parcel gilt molded frame. 13 1/2" x 20 1/2" sight, 19" x 26" framed. Note: John Frederick Herring Sr. (1795-1865) and his sons, John Frederick Herring Jr. (1815-1907) and Charles and Benjamin were painters, known for their hunting and barnyard scenes. We have attributed this work to J.F. Herring the younger based on the apparent age of the canvas. It should also be noted that J.F.
