In 1939, Fred James, Eno Saarinen and Ralph Rapson working together won a national architecture competition sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art. Upon returning to Kansas City, Frederic James won the watercolor prize competition at the Kansas City Art Institute. Then, following time served in WWII he went on to enjoy much success as a teacher and Regionalist painter participating in group exhibitions and solo showings of his work locally and in New York. Over the years that followed, Fred James received numerous awards and commissions.Sight size measures 21.5 x 27.5 with a framed size of 29.25 x 35.25 inches.Obviously the condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
