The title Dauphin or roughly viewed as the ''Son of France'' was carried by the heir apparent to the French throne. Louis Dauphin of France (1729-1795 was the only surviving son of Louis XV and Queen Marie Leszczynska. Although he died before ascending to the throne three of his sons became King Louis XVI Louis XVIII and Charles X.CONDITION: Label is chipped; small hole along front joint near foot.

This title published without indicating a place or date was according to Brunet printed in Holland about 1667. Pages 77-96 of the book include the title ''Historie de l'amour feinte du roy pour madame.'' Both pieces are ascribed to Roger de Rabutin Comte de Bussy and published with his ''Historie Amoureuse de Gaules''.
