FIVE SETS OF BAMANA DOOR LOCKS FROM MALI TOGETHER WITH A GROUP OF ASSORTED SOUTH AFRICAN AXES Bamana people live in West Africa primarily in Mali. These locks are handed down from one generation to the other and given on the occasion of marriage. The locks are symbolic where the vertical part of the lock is the female and the horizontal part is the male. In use they would have had a key or a metal pin to hold the lock in place (15)
