ANTIQUE MEISSEN PAIR OF PORCELAIN CAVALIERANTIQUE MEISSEN PAIR OF PORCELAIN CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS, MARCOLINI PERIOD MARKS Finely crafted porcelain lifelike figurines of sitting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, male, 6 ½" x 5 ½" x 3 ½", and female, 6 ¼" x 5 ?" x 3 ¾"; hand painted in polychrome with close attention to fine details and lifelike eyes. Male dog marked with underglaze blue crossed swords with asterisk (corresponding to Marcolini period, ca. 1773-1814), and incised "C 26" underneath; female marked with underglaze blue crossed swords (asterisk mark presumably not featured due to the aperture, sword shape corresponding to Marcolini period, ca. 1773-1814) and incised "C. 17." and "59" underneath.
