- "MIAMI THE BEAUTIFUL" COLOR PICTURE
"MIAMI THE BEAUTIFUL" COLOR PICTURE BOOKLETThis scenic view booklet has 31 full-page colored picture scenes of the Miami area, predominantly fancy homes, scenic streets, a few city street views (12th St.) and even a Casino with swimming pool. The color is quite well done. Across from each of the picture pages is a short story about the picture and city. The cover has a picture of a waterfront street tipped in. No date given, probably around 1920. Published by Foster & Reynolds in Miami. Inside pages fine, clean, no marks or foxing. Binding is a piece of cord through two holes near spine and tied in a bow. Paper covering spine is mostly gone, and cover edges have chips and short tears. There are also a few water spots on front cover. Otherwise a very pretty memento of early Miami.

- HISTORIC ALTERNATE COLOR SCHEME
HISTORIC ALTERNATE COLOR SCHEME FOR THE CITY OF MIAMIThe City of Miami (Late 1930s)This unsigned original tempera painting on tissue with its label from the Styling Section of General Motors' Electro-Motive Division is an alternative color scheme for the 1940 City of Miami passenger train. The final scheme selected replaced the lightning stripe shown here with a large green wave, as shown in https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/63/City_of_Miami_Illinois_Central_Railroad.JPG. In the final scheme, Illinois Central's trademark green diamond (which is wider than it is tall) shown here was replaced by a red diamond that was taller than it was wide. This painting and others like it in this collection show how much effort General Motors stylists made to present alternative designs to their clients.Image size 8 x 20, overall measures 20 x 25 inches.Very good original condition, noting a horizontal brown stain just above the locomotive cab.Provenance: The Fred Roniger Estate Collection.

On the side of the Caiman, near the suture line, is stamped "Made in Colombia" a country where alligators do not live, but Caimans, an alligator-like imposter, thrive. Good condition,
