FABRIQUE NATIONALE MODEL 1949 SEMI AUTO 7.62 RIFLEFeatured in this lot we have a Fabrique Nationale model 1949 semi-automatic battle rifle lacking the automatic selector switch and chambered in 7.62x51mm. The model 1949 is a gas operated semi-automatic battle rifle designed by Dieudonne Saive in 1947. The rifle was used in numerous wars including the Korean War and Suez Crisis. The rifle features a 23" long round barrel, hard wood stock and barrel shroud, 10 shot magazine, adjustable rear pinhole sight, bayonet attachment point, and metal butt plate. The left side of the frame is marked "Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre _ Herstal Belgique" with the top of the frame stamped with a crown design. The rifle shows an operational slide and action with the trigger and safety gummed up with grease build up making functionality unknown. The rifle shows good condition overall with wear due to age and use. Serial Number: 25089. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
