- COLT 2ND MODEL DRAGOON PISTOL“A Scarce
COLT 2ND MODEL DRAGOON PISTOL“A Scarce Colt 2nd Model Dragoon Revolver with U.S. Dragoon Markings on Barrel and Cylinder. The serial number on the trigger guard corresponds to other known examples while other stampings appear anomalous. This is potentially a rare example, seldom encountered however we cannot guarantee it to be entirely of the period 1851. 1851 production of the Second Model Dragoon began with serial number 9500 and ended later that year as Third Model Dragoon production commenced with serial number 10700. Regarding the U.S. Dragoon marking, Sutherland states: “A variation of the cylinder roll replaces the MODEL U.S.M.R. with U.S. Dragoons”. Serial number 10099 is a most interesting example and well worth further research. Of standard late Colt 2nd Model Dragoon configuration with 7.5 inch barrel and 14.5 inches overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
Light pitting at the muzzle and on the loading lever. The markings are clean and sharp except on the barrel, where the address is not entirely visible. The wedge screw is missing. The grips are very nice. US marks on the frame are extremely clear. The action is smooth, and the gun locks up nicely. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders. Condition: statements are only for general guidance and should not be relied upon as complete statements of fact and do not constitute a representation, warranty or assumption of liability by Witherell's. - CUSTOM COLT NEW SERVICE .45 LONG COLT
CUSTOM COLT NEW SERVICE .45 LONG COLT REVOLVERCustom Colt New Service .45 Long Colt caliber revolver. This interesting revolver with serial number 100949 was manufactured by Colt in the middle of World War I and shipped to Canada. At that time, officers were required to purchase their own sidearms. Canadian proof marks are still evident on this Colt, revealing some of its earlier history. At some point after this, it was returned to the U.S. and completely rebuilt to its current state. Now called “Texas Barbeque Guns,” in years past such arms were often seen on the hips of Texas and Arizona Rangers as well as Border Patrol agents. They were usually reserved for special events like parades and civic events. During the early and mid-20th century, revolvers ruled the day, and auto pistols were rarely seen holstered in Law Enforcement circles. The officers were justly proud of their handguns and many had special plated and embellished revolvers put aside for special occasions. Obviously, this is such a revolver. The Colt New Service was introduced in 1898 and to this day remains the largest frame side swing cylinder double action revolver ever turned out by the Colt New Haven factory. It was never made in small calibers and .45 Colt was considered the standard chambering for this big and powerful revolver. This example with custom 5 ½” barrel has been totally rebuilt and specially finished. The frame and barrel have been flawlessly plated in mirror-bright nickel, of which all remains today. It is accented with brilliantly gold plated cylinder, hammer, trigger, ejector rod, cylinder release and lanyard swivel, of which, like the barrel and frame, nearly all the finish remains. The barrel is clearly caliber stamped “45 L Colt” and there is a service or possibly badge number “C 328” on the frame and cylinder. The action locks tight and the bore is excellent. The grips are a synthetic stag with medallions which were very popular especially during the 1950s. Once placed in a low cut holster, these revolvers created quite a visual effect. Later, when auto pistols replaced revolvers in the 1980s-1990s, embellished handguns became popular in the Southwest as “Barbeque Guns.” Law enforcement officers, Rangers, Border Patrol agents and civilian firearms enthusiasts frequently hosted barbeques in which attendees displayed their “specially embellished” handguns in fancy tooled holsters. In many areas and especially the Southwest, this practice continues to this day. This is a fine example of a very early such handgun with great World War I history and later exhibition history. Beautifully, professionally customized and plated, this Colt must have been very impressive in the old “Revolver Days” and now holds an honored position as representing a time when big, fancy, expensive revolvers were cherished and proudly displayed. Serial Number: 100949. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.

VERY SPECIAL 1966 FORD MUSTANG VIN: 6T07C215151 Mileage: 100
Fresh from a recent refresh to the drivetrain, suspension, and interior upgrades performed by Petty's Garage in Level Cross, North Carolina. Receipts over six figures are present to document upgrades performed. The provenance of this car is thorough, as it was previously sold by us and upgrades performed with all documentation included. The original 289 cubic inch V8 was stroked to 302 cubic inches, and many performance modifications were performed. The block was baked and tumbled first before any work began. This motor was built to race with an aggressive cam, racing heads, fuel injection, and a beautiful hand made stainless steel exhaust from headers to tips. A Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, and beefed up rear-end put the power on the road. Power Brakes and power steering were added, and the front was reinforced for a new suspension system featuring coilovers and new brakes featuring drilled and slotted rotors. The rear retains the drum brake setup. A new fuel tank and American racing wheels with Continental performance tires were installed. The interior of the car was refreshed with Vintage Air air conditioning installed, new dashboard featuring a Dakota Digital/Analog gauges, tilt steering column, and steering wheel. The car was originally an automatic with a console. It received new carpet and padding, along with sound proofing material. The original seat covers were retained and the seats were rebuilt. New front and rear glass was installed with new rubber. A vintage looking stereo was added with new features and a pair of 6x9 speakers mounted to a new rear shelf.
This car was delivered to Hull-Dobbs Ford in Winston-Salem, NC in March of 1966. It was sold to a resident of Winston-Salem on March 28th. The original Ford dealership has been sold a few times, and is now doing business as Parkway Ford. Of note, the very first production Mustang, number 100211, was delivered to Hull-Dobbs Ford in 1964. A descendant of the original dealership's owners is a partner in the Corporation that currently owns the dealership. This car was built in Metuchen, New Jersey on Feb. 28th. It was equipped with a 289 cubic inch 2v V8 engine, C4 automatic transmission, and a 2.80 rear axle. It was also equipped with the luxury interior package with bucket seats finished in Emberglow/Parchment vinyl. The exterior paint is Emberglow. It appears the car has had an exterior repaint. The metal door plate, the body buck tag, and the VIN stamped on the fender match. The metal door tag does not have the original rivets, probably due to the repaint.
