(scratches to underside); the second a tapered trapezoidal form, with an ivory and silverplate round hinge lid (3 x 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 in.) (some hairlines and glued repair to lid; small chips to corners); the third a pair of crystal inkwells, cubic forms with cut geometric designs to lid and undersides, with brass mount hinges (3 1/4 x 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 in.)   Charleville MusketPattern 1771 w/ 1774 Modifications .70 cal. smoothbore. 44'' round barrel. Three barrel bands rounded lockplate rounded hammer round pan rounded frizzen. Finial on the frizzen spring. Lockplate marked Charleville. Branded on the toe of stock is UNITED STATES. Comes with a nice period bayonet. Model 1774 bayonet catch and barrel stud also retrofitted to these muskets. Condition: Barrel has an untouched dark brown patina with some pitting around the touch hole and on that portion of the barrel at the breech. Lockplate and hammer also have an untouched dark brown patina. Hammer has some pitting protrudes onto the lock and under the pan. Stock is blackened and untouched. Some nicks and dings.
