This is a Jim Ponter (American, 1923) statue depicting Robert E. Lee on Horseback carrying the Stars and Bars astride his magnificent horse. This hot wax cast bronze statue celebrates the most admired battlefield leader in the War between the States. This is a limited edition piece, signed and numbered 1001 from 9500. The sculpture includes a brass nameplate with the work and artist name and is finished with a polychrome rich patina. CIRCA: 20th Century. ORIGIN: USA. DIMENSIONS: H: 14 3/4" W: 9" D: 5 5/8".
