March 22, 1981) was a United States Navy admiral who served in conflicts from the 1940s through the 1970s. This letter was sent from Mrs. HP Willis c/o Admiral John Sidney McCain, Jr. Commander in Chief in the Pacific (CINCPAC), Pearl Harbor. From 'Jack's' wife Rowena, note inside saying they will be on the Hornet, along with Mrs. Nixon (who is staying in their guest house), for the splashdown and recovery of Apollo 11 (first landing on the moon), dated July 24, 1969, with a USS Hornet cancel. The Admiral was the father of John Sidney McCain III (August 29, 1936 ? August 25, 2018) Vietnam POW hero, US Senator from Arizona.
