A GROUPING OF FIVE RUSSIAN LACQUERWAREA GROUPING OF FIVE RUSSIAN LACQUERWARE BOXES AND NESTING DOLL 20th century, hand-painted and gilt, the boxes of rectangular form, with lids decorated in various miniature painted traditional figural folk narratives (3 3/4 x 10 x 7 5/8 in.), together with illustrated text titled Traditional Russian Fairy Tales: reflected in the lacquer miniatures of Palekh, Fedoskino, and Kholui, published in 2006 by Yarky Gorod Art Publishers. Also included is a 4-figure Matryoshka nesting doll, signed to underside.
