Pair of Sandstone Plates with FossilizedPair of Sandstone Plates with Fossilized Fish, (Knightia eocaena), ca. 50 million years old, discovered in the Green River Formation, Wyoming, the buff-colored plates with clear specimens, one with two fossils, the other with one, dia. 5-1/4". These fish were victims of a sudden extinction and are members of the herring family.

Plates measure 8"x10". They are from the Eugene Terway collection. Subjects include a canyon at Crater Lake, two depict waterfalls from Point Lookout, Fire Hole River - Creator of Geysers at Yellowstone National Park, a river canyon, two images of mountain roads, a man next to Orange Spring Mount in Yellowstone National Park, a bridge and mountain, and a wide waterfall.
