ERNEST ALBERT IMPRESSIONIST STILL LIFE PAINTING New York, Connecticut,1857-1946 Depicts a cloisonne vase decorated with birds and flowers over plumb beside a bottle vase and a vase with applied snake. Albert received the Graham Art Medal at fifteen while studying at the Brooklyn Art Institute beginning as a stage designer. In 1892, he became involved with color schemes and ornamental design of many of the interiors of buildings in the Chicago World's Colombian Exposition while helping to found the American Society of Scenic Painters while in Chicago. Beside the American Society of Scenic Painters, Albert was active in numerous organizations was the founder and first president of the Allied Artists of America.
