  FOUR HOSSAUER BERLIN SILVER CANDLE HOLDERS, 19TH C.Four matching silver-plated candle holders by Hossauer, circa 1850, weighted, and felted to the underside. Each is marked with a pictorial beehive above "HOSSAUER BERLIN" above a cartouche that reads "DOU/BLE". Each measures 10 1/2" x 4 1/2". Johann Georg Hossauer (fl. 1821-1858) was one of the most important goldsmiths in Berlin in the early to mid-19th c., so much so that Friedrich Wilhelm III granted him the title "Goldsmith of His Majesty the King." Condition Good condition, with some minor dings and bends across the set.
