PERCUSSION LONG RIFLE. American midPERCUSSION LONG RIFLE. American mid 19th century. Walnut half stock with octagonal 31''l. barrel marked ''H. Jarecki Erie Pa''. German silver patchbox and inlays of deer squirrel and dog. Imperfections. 47''l. overall. Henry Jarecki was a Prussian immigrant who arrived in America in 1849 and set up shop as a gun smith. He stopped producing guns after he set up the Jarecki Manufacturing Company in 1872. Replaced sights hole drilled through name for earlier sight. Refinished barrel.
