A Monumental Steuben ExperimentalA Monumental Steuben Experimental Group ca. 1960 by Paul Schulze Created in the early 1960's this experimental work made by Paul Schulze was known as "The Asparagus Bed" by those within the Steuben family. In 1968 the New York design department approved and sent these for outdoor installation as an experiment to see how crystal forms weather during the year. After 40+ years they were retired having been with one owner/controller since their out-door installation. Five pieces of clear crystal with custom cut holding bases with three metal supports. Measured with the bases; 3'3"T 2'7"T 29-1/2"T 27-1/2"T and 20"T. The bases are 2"T x 8"D. Th original documentation of inter-office memos regarding this are included.
