A TRAMP ART BOX WITH HEART IN TWO COLORS OF OLD PAINTThe open box is stacked with a chip-carved heart motif within an equally high heart-shape frame on one long side and a stacked roundel on the opposite - each being within stacked stiles on either end creating the container's four feet. Each end has geometric designs with central diamonds. The whole is decorated in old, original blue buttermilk paint with salmon pink highlights. It is not known if this was originally an open container (note the paint on top edge and inside) or if there was a lift-off cover. There are no signs of previous hinge attachments. The base retains the brand of a Muest Bros mahogany cigar box.Measures 6 x 10.5 x 7.75 inches.Good condition as shown.
