[Flags and Patriotic Textiles] 38-Star American Parade FlagsĀ Lot of 7 glazed cotton printed parade flags each with 38 stars configured in 7/6/6/6/6/7 horizontal rows six flags measuring 6.75'' x 9.75'' affixed to 18'' dowels one measuring 17.5'' x 12'' affixed to a 23.5'' dowel. Colorado was admitted as the 38th state in 1876 and no other states were admitted until the Dakotas in 1889. These flags were found inside the walls of a building in Iowa which was built in 1884 during demolition for remodeling. Condition: Scattered stains and color loss. Each with a horizontal ''crease'' or ''pinch'' under the topmost stripe.

FIVE SMALL LATE 19TH CENTURY UNITED STATES FLAGS The first a 45-star flag marking Utah's admittance to the Union in 1896; the others each carry a thirteen-star configuration, the largest flag being 4-1/4 x 6-1/2 in. All flags are of printed cotton and are presented in wooden frames painted black.
