Stanley Sobossek, American/New York, 1918 - 1996, exhibited in annual Washington Square Park art shows in the 1950's and 1960's. Painted scenes of the Village, New Hope PA, and Gloucester MA. Sobossek lived at 309 Sixth Ave in Greenwich Village in the 50's and c.1965, bought a building at 35 Cooper Square used as his studio and gallery as well as a bar, theatre, and music venue. Size:30 x 24. Condition: needs cleaning of heavy cigarette smoke residue, otherwise good. NOTE: PLEASE SEE Lot 167 for a similar Sobossek which has just been professionally cleaned.
