Pictured at p. 14 of A Guide to Colored Steuben Glass 1903-1933 Book Two.
Shown in a guide of colored Steuben Glass 1903-1933(Book Two) by Eric E. Ericson at p. 22.
A translucent white glass of exceptional soft, mellow, eye impact. First achieved prominence as a glass used in the manufacture of lighting fixtures. In transition from lighting fixtures, a very popular concept was to use extensive ribbing and widely-flared or stretched-edge rims. Styling indicates the bridge between the pre-World War I flair for ruffles, ribbing and elaborateness, and the post-World War I period where a return to simpler forms was in order. Ivrene is an exceedingly scarce commodity to find today. Mostly produced in console sets. When found in a finely blown object and held to a light source will appear fiery opalescent. Usually had lightly incised script Steuben. Ericson p. 33 Vol I.
Three lily style shown in a full page picture, at p.144 of Art Glass Nouveau by Ray and Lee Grover. AIvrene, a transparent, white opaque glass, might best be described as nearly pure snow white in color with a light satin finish, slightly iridescent. This work is quite rare, most of the pieces being in the art shapes rather than the commercial ware forms such as flatware, goblets ad the like P. 144, Art Glass Nouveau by Ray and Lee Grover.
