Note: Karl Vondal was born in the Austrian town of Obersiebenbrunn. He was the youngest of many children and when he was old enough to leave school he began an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, which he did not complete. He became mentally ill at this time and was admitted to a mental health facility where his artistic talent was recognized. Since 2003 the artist has worked in both the House of Artists and the open Atelier Gugging. His work was included in the Galerie Gugging in 2003.

CARL KAUBA (AUSTRIAN/AMERICAN,CARL KAUBA (AUSTRIAN/AMERICAN, 1865 - 1922) 10 ½" overall Painted bronze sculpture of a young dancer in the Art Nouveau style, on carved marble column with bronze plaque at the base depicting a young woman in profile surrounded by a tambourine, a fan, and flowers. Signed at the base behind her foot, marked to the side of the base "Geschützt 5805." The same numbers also faintly stamped to the back of her gown.

When the clasp of her belt is opened lady's dress parts and she springs to a standing position in the buff. The bronze is signed on the tail of the bear skin "C. Kauba".
