- [Western Photography] Steamship
[Western Photography] Steamship Dolphin Photograph Taken in Alaska a 6.25'' x 9.5'' silver gelatin print on a mount trimmed to roughly the same size. The Dolphin was an iron hulled passenger steamer which operated for the Alaska Steamship Company circa 1901-1917 running regular routes from Seattle to Juneau Skagway Sitka Ketchikan and other Alaskan ports. It was sold to a Chilean owner around 1920 and later converted to a gunboat for the Mexican Navy. Photograph possibly by Case and Draper who made many photographs of this and other steamers which they sold to the tourists arriving on them. Condition: Soiling and edge wear.
