One painted after Nathaniel Sichel (German, 1843-1907) with an Orientalist depiction of a dancing girl, one arm raised, bearing a tambourine. Signed L. Dietrich along the lower right. With an impressed mark "107" and inscription reading "Fatme nach N. Sichel." The other porcelain plaque is painted after a work by by Charles Landelle (French, 1821-1908), depicting the Old Testament Biblical figure Ruth in a field of corn. She is dressed simply in a grey dress, white headwrap, and carrying a wheat sheaf under her arm. She holds the viewers gaze, and stands before a sunset. Both plaques are housed in Rococo style giltwood frames.
