ASIAN SILVER SMALLS INC. TORII GATE, SPOONS5 small items of Asian table silver, including sterling and pure silver. 1st item: Butter plate and matching butter spreader knife, both with high-relief applied dragon decoration, the plate with rippled rim. Both items marked on underside with Taoist "Yin/Yang" symbol and Japanese hallmarks, the knife with additional word "sterling". Plate 5" diameter, knife 5 3/4"L. 2nd item: Knife Rest or miniature table ornament in the form of a Japanese Torii Gate, with symbol mark at top and Japanese jungin mark for pure silver on underside. 2 1/2"H. 3rd item: Pair of Salt Cellars and Spoons, each cellar of octagonal form with glass lining and engraved bamboo decoration. Cellars are marked with Japanese jungin mark for pure silver on underside and additional hallmark (1 spoon also has the additional hallmark, but neither has Jungin marks). 4th item: Sugar Sifter or berry spoon with pierced and engraved Phoenix design to bowl and bamboo design to handle. Marked Sterling 900 with additional illegible pictorial mark and maker's mark SE. Possibly Chinese. 4 7/8"L. 5th item: boxed set of 12 Japanese silver demitasse spoons with bamboo and leaf design handles, all with Japanese character hallmark to back, Miyamoto-Shoko Tokyo label inside box. Combined weight of all items (excluding salt cellars): 10.25 oz troy.
Condition:
Salt cellars each have a couple of small dents and a 1/8" area of pitting to exterior. All items with light wear.

Meiji/Taisho Era, by Miyamoto Kinsei, with chased flowers and chrysanthemums accented with gilt and copper, the base marked "Sterling" above Maker's mark. The set includes a teapot (appx 8 1/2" T x 11 1/2" W), a coffee pot (appx 10 1/2" T x 11" W), a tea caddy (appx 7" T), a creamer (appx 4 3/4" T x 6 1/2" W), a sugar (appx 7" T x 8" W), and a waste bowl (appx 3 3/4" T x 5" W). The total weight is appx 122 ozt. The spout of the creamer has a small crease. Set is in overall very good condition.
