AFTER FREDERIC SACKRIDER REMINGTON 22 ¾" x 15 ½" x 9 ½" “The Rattlesnake”. Cast bronze, signed in the base with copyright, with 1" oval marble base. Depicts a horse twisted in fright to a rattlesnake as the rider grabs the horse’s mane with his left hand and holds his hat on with his right. This was second only to “The Broncho Buster” in popularity, with some 100 casts produced before Remington’s original models were destroyed in 1921.

The work is displayed on its original conforming walnut base with brass plaque.Measures 10.5 x 11.25 x 6.25 inches.Very good original condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.Provenance: The estate of Tom Watson, Honorary Member of the Cowboy Artists of America.
