Sonora Bell Chime No. 16 American c. 1914 having springwound time/strike movement and secondary chime movement that strikes Sonora Chimes on a nest of four bells. Height 18.5 inches. The clock does not work and it is missing the pendulum. It shows moderate wear with cracks to the veneer and wear and scratches to the face.

  RARE PRE SETH THOMAS SONORA CHIME CABINET CLOCKSonora Chime Company, New York, USA. Rare antique eight bell cabinet clock, circa 1904. Marked "Patents Pending Sonora Chimes" along a metal plaque along the reverse of the clock. Housed in a wooden case decorated with veneer marquetry along the front. Stamped "Sonora" along the face of the dial with Arabic numeral markers. Numbered 1231129. This clock was created before Seth Thomas purchased the rights and patents to the company and mechanisms from William Hoschke in 1912. Height: 16 3/8 in x width: 11 1/2 in x depth: 8 3/4 in. He then started his clock factory in Plymouth Hollow and remained there until his death in 1859. He was regarded as one of the most honest and successful clock makers of his time. He is one of the most recognized makers even in modern time.
