Original stretcher, three patches verso, crackle, small hole with paint loss at rose, retouch beside left eye, possibly at bottom, some in background, 1 in. tear bottom middle. Estate of the late Judge John Emery Parks, Honolulu, Hawaii.

British school, ca. 1845 A delicately rendered pair of miniature profile portraits of a man and a woman, pencil on card with white highlighting and hints of color, each approx. 5-1/2" x 4-5/8", framed in gilt period frames under rolled glass overall approx. 6-1/2" x 5-5/8". The man's portrait is unsigned, and the woman's portrait is signed "Margaret Dymond" and dated 1845. Each has a vintage label on the back from Scott, Heydon, & Co., London.
