SPRINGFIELD RIFLE-MUSKET 1863. Type I .58 caliber 40'' round barrel and darkly stained wood stock. Barrel is marked ''1863'' in front of tang and ''V ''over ''P'' just left of tang on barrel. Behind hammer on lock plate marked ''1863''. U.S. Springfield and eagle stamped in front of hammer. Eagle is also stamped on the breech plug. Stock has dings scratches and discoloration which is consistent with age. Bore shows light rust. Hammer lock and trigger mechanism are strong. Parts look original.

Clean bore rifling visible though weak strong action. Eagle and US Springfield on lockplate. V P Eagle head proof marks on barrel. Square cartouche on left side of stock. Dark grey-blue patina on barrel stock has some dings. Lettering is slightly faded though quite legible. A nice clean gun.

Inspector mark SWP over 1889 opposite lock. S/n 466961. Small N below trigger tang on stock. Larger P in circle 2 inches lower. VP on barrel. Numbering on sights is very clear. Over all condition of gun excellent.

SPRINGFIELD PERCUSSION MUSKETOON. 1847 Artillery model .69 caliber 26'' round barrel steel ramrod and sling swivels mounted from barrel band and buttstock. Overall length is 41''. Bore is fairly clean no rifling has a strong action. Mottled brown-steel patina on metal light corrosion in the past. Wood is very dark some dings. V P and Eagles head still visible on barrel. Lockplate has small Eagle over US forward of hammer Springfield 1847 to the rear. Number ''10'' below screw on upper tang. Has a very nice balance but reportedly kicks like a mule!

All mounts are of brass and the stock is fitted with a 9 1/4" ringbar and ring on the left side. Ramrod swivels have been replaced by a sleeved chain device, a rare varient. U.S. on buttplate, stock inspected. Very good overall adn GWO, no serial # present. Estimate $2,750-3,750

S/n 326636. Bore clean good rifling strong action. Dark plum patina on metal (missing at tip) inspection stamps on barrel. All numbers and stamps on metal are clear. Cartouche stamps are missing from stock. Heavy varnish.

US Model 1873 at breech plug. S/n 416978. Bore is clean rifling good action strong. Barrel and wood have dark patina. Square cartouche on left side 1886 (hard to read). V P and Eagle head left side of barrel very clear. Eagle and US Springfield and 1883 slightly worn. Leather sheath for bayonet stamped US. brass 'US'' on belt clip. Leather is dry but not brittle. A nice looking combination.

Model 1866 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle .50-70 cal. 40" round barrel. Three barrel bands top of blackened breechblock marked 1866 with an eagle. Case colored lock marked with an eagle and U.S. Springfield and dated 1864. ?Walnut stock?with a oval cartouche of HCH.? Condition: Barrel is bright with some very light staining.??Breechblock retains most of the blackened finish. Lockplate?and hammer retain most of the case coloring just slightly faded. ?Stock is excellent with nice cartouche and open-grained look.
