Folio, old leather over wooden bds.; worn & defective, covers separated. Numerous woodcut illustrations. Title page repaired, repairs & dampstaining through leaf D1, some loss of ptg. & extensive repairs to the 2 leaves following title page, dampstaining & marginal repairs at end, (leaves PP - SSIIII, second volume, folios 365-382), a few scattered cello tape repairs, old unobtrusive mounted slips on yIIII, volume 2, leaf 130, 19th-Century newspaper clipping - devotional poem by member of the Haesler family - on XII, vol. 2, leaf 260. With 17th & early 18th-Century ms. family records on front blank. Long reputed to be the oldest "family" Bible in Pennsylvania. Haesler family tradition holds that a member of the family obtained this copy at or close to the date of its printing & subsequently brought it to Pennsylvania. An early 20th-Century ms. family account of this copy's history tipped-in on 4 folio sheets.
