17th century British needlework, two figures, soldier with tents in background, woman in court dress in front of buildings, oval panel surrounded by stylized flowers, insects and birds above lion and leopard, silk on silk ground, British, late 17th century, 17 x 21 in. (sight); wood frame. Extensive fading and browning to silk, approximately 1-1/2 x 6 in. area with losses of silk ground and some shattering, losses to embroidered elements, possible pest damage; frame with losses and chips.

1702 LONDON KING JAMES BIBLE AND 1704 BOOK OF COMMON PR...1702 London King James Bible and 1704 Book of Common Prayer , handsomely bound in green Morocco with silver clasps and engraved “Joanna Querk 1707” and struck with maker’s mark “ES.” The first blank leaf of the bible with handwritten inscription: “Robert Sidersin the son of Walter Sidersin and Alice his wife was born the 19th January and baptized the 2 of February 1720/1” and likewise a blank leaf at the end: “Elizth Short Her Book 29th July 1792.”
