Bifold with blank interior, ALS "It is Most humbly submitted to Your Majesty: That as soon as Ships can be prepared and the season will permit, the Service Companies of the 87th Regiment be ordered to embark for the Mauritius to relieve the 82nd which has been abroad since 1819." Signed "Appd. W.R." and in red pencil: "Memo to Adj. General 18th Jany, Do to QMGen Do Letter to Lieut. Genl. Honble Sir C. Colville 1st February". Mauritius, an Indian Ocean Island nation, was one of the leading providers of sugar at the time. This very year, the constitution of 1831 provided for a Council of Government, in which representation was largely by Europeans.

17TH CENTURY RELIGIOUS PORTRAIT, PRAGUEOil on canvas painting of Joes Cztiborius Kotva. Inscription at bottom states he is a theologian during the time of "Ferdi. II" or Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II (1619-1637). Painting is set in Bohemia (today Prague, Czech Republic) as the Church of Our Lady before Tyn can be seen over the subject's shoulder. A small suit of armor stands on the table next to a goblet. Well stabilized and relined. Some loss at bottom along with wear and visible repairs. Modern frame with period styling.
