1833 house and verse sampler, large brick house with fenced yard above a band of potted flowers and a five-line verse, stitched at bottom "Elizabeth Francis her work made in the year of our Lord 1833 aged 11 years 2 Oct", flower and vine border, silk on linen or wool, probably English, 18-3/4 x 12-1/2 in. (sight); original wood frame. Scattered holes, fading, fugitive colors. Estate of the Late Wyatt W. Childs, Barnesville, Georgia.

1831 MILTARY ORDER SIGNED BY KING WILLIAM IV OF ENGLAND (REIGNED 1830 - 1837) Docketed as "Horse Guards 14 Jany 1831; Memorandum; The Service Companies of the 87th to proceed to the Maritius". Bifold with blank interior, ALS "It is Most humbly submitted to Your Majesty: That as soon as Ships can be prepared and the season will permit, the Service Companies of the 87th Regiment be ordered to embark for the Mauritius to relieve the 82nd which has been abroad since 1819." Signed "Appd. W.R." and in red pencil: "Memo to Adj. General 18th Jany, Do to QMGen Do Letter to Lieut. Genl. Honble Sir C. Colville 1st February". Mauritius, an Indian Ocean Island nation, was one of the leading providers of sugar at the time. This very year, the constitution of 1831 provided for a Council of Government, in which representation was largely by Europeans.

War of 1812 Soldier's Letter dated December 21, 1814, from Micajah C. Rogers to an unknown officer, in the "Vicinity of Fort Montgomery" (probably Fort Montgomery in Mississippi Territory), written in the weeks between the Battles of Pensacola and New Orleans and only days before the signing of the Treaty of Ghent ended the war, describing reconnaissance along the Escambia River, Major Blue's troop movements, and the capture and killing of Indians in Pensacola, 17 lines on one page, handwritten in brown ink on laid paper, 12 x 7-1/8 in.,
