Reputedly a Confederate import by Isaac & Son London. 41''l. overall. Black scabbard - old repaint some flaking pretty good shape. Sword very wavy with hard dog-leg to right. Grip worn smooth. No marks numbers or letters. Brown scabbard - rusted hole in bottom. No marks. Sword has no marks and replaced wood handle.

TWO 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN SWORDS The first a British 1827 Pattern Rifle Officer's Sword, after 1850, 32-1/2 in. steel blade etched with patriotic and floral motifs, the ricasso on the right with inlaid gilt mark having PROVED over a fleur de lis; with a pierced iron guard, the grip sheathed in ray skin with wire wrap, lacking scabbard (light oxidation to iron elements, else fine condition); the second an English or French small sword with unmarked 27-1/2 in. triangular blade, brass guard and grip with copper wire, lacking scabbard (guard with old break and resulting loss to a decorative loop).
